The Auburn Hills Golf Course, Wichita, Kan., closed for a few days earlier this month after suffering extensive hail storm damage, reports KAKE-TV. Hail stones left about a thousand holes on the course, including the 18 greens, three practice greens, and a nursery.
“This is the the first hail damage we’ve really had this bad out here and I’ve been with the city since 94. It’s probably the worst I’ve seen,” Ron Mosher, Course Superintendent, said to KAKE-TV.
Volunteers from the Men’s Golf Club along with golf course staff spent the day treating the greens with forks to work the turf back into place. Workers then airified, top dressed, and fertilized the grounds.
