The new owner of the Auburn (Calif.) Country Club has hired regional golf course management company Empire Golf Inc. to oversee the course. According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Lone Star Golf LLC, the course’s new owner, and Empire Golf announced the contract, which takes effect immediately.
Auburn Country Club is a semi-private club that is open to limited daily fee and outside tournament play. It has a recently renovated clubhouse, banquet facilities for up to 250 guests, and an outside wedding venue. Over the years, the course has played host to qualifying events for the U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Junior Amateur.
Not including Auburn Country Club, Empire Golf owns or operates five golf course properties in Northern California: Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in Carmichael, Cherry Island Golf Course in Elverta, DarkHorse Golf Club in Auburn, Oakmont Golf Club in Santa Rosa and La Contenta Golf Club in Valley Springs. The Rancho Murieta-based company specializes in the operation of semi-private and daily fee facilities.
