Arnold Palmer Golf Management has leased Balcones Country Club in Northwest Austin, Texas. Details of the lease were not disclosed, according to an article in the Austin Business Journal. Balcones Country Club is a nearly 50-year-old, member-owned private club.
Arnold Palmer Golf already has a presence in central Texas through its ownership and operation of Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown and ownership of The Club at Sonterra in San Antonio.
“We are extremely pleased to have Balcones join our portfolio of clubs,” said Jim Hinckley, President and CEO of Arnold Palmer Golf Management, told the Journal. “This relationship with its members is one of many partnerships with member-equity clubs that we expect to have in the coming months. We are working with a number of clubs that are interested in having our team help them improve their clubs.”
Balcones includes two 18-hole golf courses, clubhouses, tennis courts and swimming pools. The club’s Spicewood Course is open to members and public play; the Balcones Course is available only for members and their guests.
