The Arlington Club, a private country club in Richmond, Ky., 25 miles southeast of Lexington, has selected Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports to assume management duties and evaluate all aspects of the club, including membership categories and programs, the condition of the physical plant and ways in which the property can be used by members for events. In addition, KemperSports will actively engage the membership to get feedback and opinions on how to improve the club and attract new members.
Built in 1969, The Arlington Club’s 18-hole, par-72 golf course is located on a former 193-acre estate that includes the 150-year-old Arlington Mansion.
In addition to the championship golf course, the club facilities include a golf clubhouse with a pro shop, grill room and locker rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, six lighted tennis courts and the “Mule Barn,” which can host group functions and casual events.
The Arlington Club is also the home course to the Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) men’s and women’s golf teams as well as the EKU Professional Golf Management program, which has a separate practice and learning center next to The Arlington Club golf course.
“We are excited to welcome KemperSports to the community and The Arlington Club, and we know professional management will benefit the club and our members going forward,” said Barry Poynter of The Arlington Club’s Board of Directors. “Arlington’s Board is committed to providing a positive and memorable club experience to our members and their guests.”
