The Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course at Desert Highlands Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., will undergo a $7 million project that will replace the irrigation system, upgrade cart paths, and replace bunkers. Forest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas will rebuild all 18 greens, create an optional 19th hole, renovate the driving range and more through a $5.1 million project.
Members of The Desert Highlands Association in Scottsdale, Ariz., have approved a $7 million project that will replace the irrigation system, upgrade cart paths, and replace bunkers at Desert Highlands Golf Club’s Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course.
The project is expected to begin in July 2018 and wrap up in August 2019, before overseed. The golf course will not close during construction, and beginning in April 2019, nine holes will remain open at all times.
The project will replace the original irrigation system built in 1982.
A comprehensive $5.1 million renovation of Forest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas seeks to highlight the natural beauty of the Hill Country and improve playability and conditioning of the golf course.
The project includes:
• Rebuilding all 18 greens, practice putting green and chipping green to USGA specifications
• Creation of optional 19th hole
• Complete renovation of the driving range, including new tee area, range lighting, netting regrading, target greens, sand traps
• Reconstruction of all bunkers throughout the golf course
• Improved drainage in low lying areas of the course
• Installation of new course irrigation system
• Replacement and renovation of bridges and other infrastructure
The renovation will also include tree clearing and planting of native grasses to further enhance the course’s beauty.
Due to the scope of the project, the golf course closed for play on January 1, 2018, with plans to re-open late summer 2018. During construction, the Player’s Grill and Forest Room will remain open for dining and special events.
