At the Stars of the Industry Awards luncheon held recently by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), 10 individuals were honored for their exceptional accomplishments, service, and leadership in the lodging industry. Among them, Edmund “Buster” Civerolo, Jr., Bell Help of Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Honolulu, Hawaii, was honored with the Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year award.
“[Civerolo] has dedicated thirty years to the industry and truly embodies the definition of hospitality,” the award citation said. “Winner in the large property category, he has been deemed the ‘Ambassador of Aloha’ for his work as bell help, based on his enthusiastic and service-oriented attitude.
“Whether it’s teaching guests to surf on his days off or staying in touch with repeat guests via letters, Buster makes personalizing every guest’s stay his priority,” the commendation continued. “His positive outlook and desire to serve has earned him various recognitions over the years, and his humble and contagiously optimistic personality has made him an asset to the resort.”
