The basketball legend is one step closer to building his first golf course after presenting the basic plans at a Martin County, Fla., workshop. In addition to Jordan, 25 other investors will contribute $1 million each, and unnamed sources said the golf course would have a similar feel to Medalist Golf Club, also in Hobe Sound.

The plan for the 226-acre golf course property in Hobe Sound, Fla., failed to meet some county developer requirements, including addressing how exotic vegetation would be removed, locations of parking spots for disabled people, and missing labels for wells and irrigation structures. The developer could still submit a revised application addressing the problems.

The planned 226-acre golf course in Hobe Sound, Fla., is still in the works after the first proposal failed to meet all county regulations. The proposal is for an exclusive 18-hole course on former citrus land, and Jordan would be the principal owner with 25 investors putting up to $1 million toward the project.
