Indian Wells (Calif.) Golf Resort will unveil a new after-dark golf and entertainment experience, “Shots in the Night,” on October 18th. The new attraction will be open for public play Thursdays through Saturdays from sundown until 10 p.m., and will feature Glow Golf on the practice range, NextLinks Putting Green Games on the seven-green putting course, a new food truck dining option, music and clubhouse food-and-drink specials.
“Shots in the Night” is being marketed to families, small groups, corporate outings or guests looking for ways to extend their days at the property. Games are designed for golfers of all skill levels, including beginners or those who do not play golf frequently. Packages are available for private parties with food and beverage included.
Here are details for each of the attractions being offered through the “Shots in the Night” experience:
Glow Golf on the Range: From one of 12 tee stations, participants will attempt to hit large inflatable lit-up bowling pins and beach balls with glow-in-the-dark golf balls. Placed at various distances on the practice range, the inflatable objects will make sounds and change colors when struck. Glow Golf games include Closest-to-the-Pin, High Score, 21, Lights-Out and Cricket. Groups or individuals will be able to rent a tee station for $40 per hour for up to six people.
Putting Green Games: The seven-green putting course will be illuminated with overhead colored lasers projecting various games onto the putting surface, while TVs mounted on truss structures throughout the course will play broadcasts of sporting events. Developed by Santa Ana, Calif.-based NextLinks, app-driven games and activities to be used on the putting green will include Horse, Golf Darts, Shuffleboard, Corn Hole, and Around-the-World. Players will simply sign into an iPad on a stand beside the putting green and choose their desired game. Groups or individuals will be able to rent an individual green for $40 per hour for up to six people.
Food Truck Dining: Indian Wells Golf Resort’s new food truck is staffed and operated by the Vue Grille and Bar and led by Sous Chef Michael Mann. The food truck menu includes Bacon & Jalapeño Mac n Cheese Balls; an Ahi Poke Cone; Short Rib Grilled Cheese; and Rueben Sliders.
Vue Grille & Bar: For a more complete dining experience, guests can also enjoy food and drink at the Vue Grille & Bar located on the second floor of the clubhouse. In addition to a full menu, the Vue Grille and Bar features famous martinis, mojitos and a selection of more than 200 whiskeys.
“Our new ‘Shots in the Night’ venue is incredible,” said Indian Wells’ General Manager, Steve Rosen. “It’s cosmic bowling, combined with the playability of mini-golf, mixed with an outdoor nightclub atmosphere. ‘Shots in the Night’ is a terrific evening entertainment option for Coachella Valley residents and guests staying at nearby resorts.”
