A total of 181 PGA members have been classified as GMs during the first half of 2018. The trend validates the recent repositioning of the PGA Career Services Department, the Association feels.

The PGA of America announced that 80 PGA Members were either promoted, hired or declared as a General Manager (GM) at public, private and resort facilities nationwide during the second quarter of 2018. With 101 additional GMs declared during the first quarter, a total of 181 PGA Members were classified in that position during the first half of the year.

“This exciting trend reinforces that PGA Members have unsurpassed leadership skills, expertise and business acumen to manage an entire facility,” said Interim PGA Chief Executive Officer John Easterbrook Jr., PGA. “PGA Members bring employers a breadth of industry-leading resources, opportunities and proven best practices that positively impact the bottom line.”

The trend of PGA Members earning GM positions further validates the PGA’s recent repositioning of its PGA Career Services Department, the Association feels, as it remains committed to ensuring that PGA Members and golf industry professionals are prepared and equipped to advance their career path to the highest level.
