Thirteen PGA Professionals Earn Advanced Certification

The managers from facilities across the country have completed the requirements to achieve advanced certification through the PGA Certified Professional Program 2.0, in career categories that include General Management, Golf Operations, Player Development and Teaching & Coaching.

The PGA of America announced that 13 PGA Professionals have completed the requirements to achieve certification in categories that include General Management, Golf Operations, Player Development and Teaching & Coaching.

The advanced certification is acquired through the PGA Certified Professional Program 2.0 (CPP 2.0), which is targeted to enhance the skillset of PGA Professionals and advancing career opportunities.

Since program’s inception in 2004, 1,467 PGA professionals have earned a combined 2,541 certifications in their desired career paths.

Among the latest group to earn certification, Joseph Smith, PGA, Van Buskirk Municipal Golf Course, Stockton, Calif. (Northern California PGA Section) achieved certification in General Management.

These managers earned certification in Golf Course Operations:

  • Tucker Campbell, PGA, Columbine Country Club, Columbine Valley, Colo. (Colorado PGA Section)
  • Joseph Stadler, PGA, West Allis, Wis. (Wisconsin PGA Section)
  • Andrew Miller, PGA, Cowan Creek Golf Club, Georgetown, Texas (Southern Texas PGA Section)
  • Jacquelyne Gateley, PGA, Baton Rouge (La.) Country Club (Gulf States PGA Section)
  • Patrick Langan, PGA, The Golf Club of Purchase (N.Y.) (Metropolitan PGA Section)
  • Matthew Taken, PGA, Tuckaway Country Club, Franklin, Wis. (Wisconsin PGA Section)
  • Zachary Stanley, PGA, Pinehurst (N.C.) Country Club (Carolinas PGA Section)
  • Steve Saulsbery, PGA, Indian Peaks Golf Course, Lafayette, Colo. (Colorado PGA Section)

These managers earned certification in Player Development:

  • Luke Frazier, PGA, Wellington, Fla. (South Florida PGA Section)
  • Brett Thomaswick, PGA, Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club, Sunset Beach, N.C. (Carolinas PGA Section)

These managers earned certification in Teaching & Coaching:

  • Stephen Caruso, PGA, Ferncroft Country Club, Middleton, Mass. (New England PGA Section)
  • Kurt Uniek, PGA, George Dunne National Golf Course, Oak Forest, Ill. (Illinois PGA Section)
  • Brent Bowen, PGA, Duke University Golf Club, Durham, N. C., (Carolinas PGA Section)

The certification programs cover seven potential career paths in total, including Golf Operations, Retail, General Management, Executive Management, Ownership and Leasing, Teaching & Coaching, and Player Development

The training and education curriculum is all-digital and the PGA CPP 2.0  state-of-the-art platform ensures that PGA members have the skills, competencies, and training demanded by employers and customers throughout the golf industry.

The program supports PGA members who are committed to continuously enhancing their golf management skills in an effort to stay ahead of the increasing demands of the industry.
