The “UTV Mountain Experience” at the 3,200-acre property in Sylacauga, Ala. now gives guests the opportunity to ride utility terrain vehicles on a guided tour to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Guided horseback riding options are also offered for novice and seasoned riders, and a new walking/jogging/bicycle trail has been opened.
Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, Ala., which opened a new inn earlier in 2018, has announced a fresh slate of outdoor amenities for guests, the AL.com website reported
The 3,200-acre resort features a 40-room inn, 22-acre wedding venue, Orvis shooting grounds and the 18-hole, 7,444-yard championship FarmLinks golf course. Guests this summer can now enjoy trail riding on John Deere Gator utility terrain vehicles as part of the “UTV Mountain Experience,” or on horseback, and can also use a new walking/jogging/bicycle trail, AL.com reported.
The resort’s co-founder David Pursell told AL.com that the additions were designed to give guests the option of enjoying a quiet retreat or an active agenda.
“We realize that a restorative getaway means total relaxation to some, and non-stop activities for others,” Pursell said. “Our new amenities appeal to both.”
The UTV Mountain Experience offers rides on trails aboard John Deere Gators that feature side-by-side seating, AL.com reported. The guided tour reaches the top of Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views of the valleys and mountains beyond.
Excursions last under two hours and are offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The cost is $175 per vehicle for up to four riders.
Guided horseback riding options are now also offered for novice and seasoned riders. The less-challenging 90-minute pasture ride meanders along meadows and scenic countryside, AL.com reported, at a cost of $75 per person.
More seasoned riders can enjoy a two-and-a-half hour mountain trail ride that reaches the top of Sulphur Mountain, at a cost of $100 per person. The horseback rides are offered at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily during the summer, AL.com reported.
A new walking and jogging trail at Pursell Farms winds along just under three miles of tree-lined paths, a lake, and pastures, AL.com reported. Maps are available at the front desk of the inn, and access is complimentary.
Bicycles may also be rented at the Inn on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $20 per bike for up to two hours, and riders may follow the walking trail.
