A new Sports Center that was opened this winter featured three golf simulator bays and four sheets of curling ice, a sport the club has had since the 1920s, and a new bar. The building is converted into a golf cart storage facility for the summer. A new Pro Shop and pavilion were also built, with members able to purchase commemorative bricks to celebrate the club’s centennial.
Nashua (N.H.) Country Club has completed a trio of major construction projects totaling approximately $5 million.
A new Sports Center was opened this winter featuring three golf simulator bays using the latest version of Trackman golf simulators and custom-made furniture.
Also in the building are four sheets of curling ice. Nashua CC has had curling since the 1920s and now has the most modern facility on the East Coast. A new bar was opened, with full foodservice serving indoor golfers and curlers. The building is converted into a golf cart storage facility during the golf season.
Included in the project was a brand new Pro Shop, featuring a small member’s lounge, an indoor golf teaching facility, and a retail space with palladium windows and a modern bag-storage area.
Outside the Pro Shop, a pavilion was constructed with very comfortable outdoor furniture for members to enjoy before and after their rounds. Members were able to purchase bricks with their names to celebrate the centennial of the club. The two buildings were designed by Pando Associates Architects, Inc. in Canton, Mass., which was selected because of the firm’s expertise in building ice rinks.
To finish the project, the interior was completely renovated by Stewart Design of Carlisle, Mass. The project encompassed three meeting rooms and two member living room spaces. The job was a challenge, as parts of the structure are almost 200 years old.
Nashua CC, a member-owned private club, was founded in 1916 and is known to have the first golf course designed by Wayne Stiles.
