The city of Lexington, Ky. is extending its popular “Free Friday Nights Flicks” program to include two city golf courses this year, the Lexington Herald Leader reported, as part of an initiative to encourage golfers and non-golfers alike to visit the city’s five public golf courses.
Now in its 22ndyear, Free Friday Night Flicks at Jacobson Park has been one of the most popular summer programming events offered by the Lexington Parks and Recreation department, the Herald Leader reported. And now two city courses will host “Fairway Flicks” as part of the program. Prior to each movie, there will be golf-related activities, such as putting challenges and footgolf, as well as other child-friendly activities that offer a chance to win prizes.
The Herald Leader reported that “Raiders of the Lost Ark” will be shown at Lexington’s Tates Creek Golf Course on June 16, and on August 11, the golf-centric “Happy Gilmore” will play at the city’s Gay Brewer Jr. Golf Course at Picadome.
The cost to attend the “Fairway Flicks” events for people over 13 will be $3.00, the Herald Leader reported.
