The Sapphire, N.C. property completed Phase Two, which included a complete makeover of all dining areas and the addition of a lobby/bar area with a panoramic view of the golf course and surrounding mountains, in time for the opening of the 2018 season. Phase One, in 2016, completely redesigned and renovated the club’s kitchen. Burlingame has added nearly 90 new families in the last three years, in part by opening memberships to non-residents.
Members of Burlingame Country Club in Sapphire, N.C. have announced the completion of a major renovation within the clubhouse, The Times-News of Hendersonville, N.C. reported.
The expansion follows a period of renewed growth for the club, with nearly 40 new families joining Burlingame CC in 2017 and nearly 90 new families in the last three years, The Times-News reported— growth that is in part due to private, member-owned, invitation-only club opening memberships to non-residents.
Phase One of the renovations began in 2016 with a completely redesigned and renovated kitchen, The Times-News reported. The just-completed Phase Two included a complete makeover of all dining areas, so members are now able to enjoy lunch and dinner options with the addition of a lobby/bar area that provides a panoramic view of the golf course and surrounding mountains.
Burlingame CC began the Phase Two renovation once the 2017 season was complete, The Times-News reported, and was committed to completing the major project before the 2018 season was scheduled to begin on May 1.
“Great clubs get lots of use,” Burlingame General Manager Brian McEnteer said in a news release, “and that means we need to keep pace with our active membership by keeping amenities fresh, up-to-date and as enjoyable as possible.
“We’re really pleased to have more members in our Burlingame family, but with that comes our responsibility to continue to create a memorable and wonderful experience for them,” McEnteer added. “This expansion will do that, and then some, so that we will have many great and truly enjoyable years ahead.”
