The new facility at the Estero, Fla. property will include four pickleball courts and a private dog park. The club has also begun a $4 million renovation of its Pete and P.B. Dye-designed golf course.
The West Bay Club in Estero, Fla., a private, member-owned resort-style community, has begun construction on a new, 2.3-acre Sports Park which will include four pickleball courts, a private dog park for small and large dogs, ample parking and restrooms.
Completion of phase one of the project is anticipated for mid-June, 2018.
“West Bay’s expansion plans for the Sports Park is a reflection of our commitment to add value and elevate the overall experience for our community residents,” said Jerry Beaubien, the Community Board Vice President in charge of the project. “The new Sports Park is the perfect complement to our [other] amenities that cater to the luxury active outdoor lifestyle and provide an additional social-gathering opportunity for our residents.”
The addition of the new Sports Park will add to an amenity package offered with no separate membership fees that includes:
- An eight-court Tennis Center with fully stocked tennis pro shop
- A River Park with a private boat launch and access to the Gulf of Mexico
- A Bay House for dining, meetings and other activities
- A resort-style swimming pool, tiki bar, kiddie pool, and adult spa
- A private Beach Club on the Gulf, with private dining
- A children’s playground and basketball court
- Kayaking and canoeing
The club has also begun a $4 million renovation of its 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Pete and P.B. Dye, through a project led by the design team of Fry-Straka. The course closed on April 2ndand is expected to reopen in mid-November, 2018.
“There are so many new developments going on at the West Bay Club,” said Bill Darkoch, Community Board President. “With the addition of the new Sports Park, our community members really have it all.”
