The Franklin, Tenn. property includes an Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest-designed golf course and a Golf Academy that is set to expand with a new insulated and heated hitting bay, which will be the first of its kind in the Nashville area.
Westhaven Golf Club, a private club located three miles from historic downtown Franklin, Tenn., just south of Nashville, has selected Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, to oversee its course and club operations.
Open since 2009, Westhaven Golf Club’s 18-hole golf course was designed by Arthur Hills, Steve Forrest and Associates. The golf course is the centerpiece of the Westhaven master-planned community, although no homes line the course. The core-golf design blends with the surrounding hills and ridgelines of western Williamson County.
Westhaven’s clubhouse provides food-and-beverage and event services, with members enjoying casual and fine-dining options in the club’s bar, grill and Main Dining Room. The club’s family-centric atmosphere includes social activities for kids and adults.
The Westhaven Golf Academy offers instruction for golfers of all abilities as well as club fitting. The Golf Academy is committed to growing the game by offering numerous junior golf programs, including the Junior Golf Academy, junior golf summer camps, PGA Junior League teams and junior-only events.
The Golf Academy will soon be expanding as a new insulated and heated hitting bay will be built, providing members with the opportunity to practice year-round in an indoor facility while hitting balls onto the range. The indoor bay will be first of its kind in the Nashville area.
“Westhaven Golf Club is fortunate and excited to have Troon Privé managing the day-to-day operations of the club,” said Brian Sewell, President, Southern Land Company. “Troon will help take the club to the next level in terms of member experience, service and agronomy standards.
”In addition, the Troon Privé Privilege program is an added benefit for our full golf members, giving them reciprocal access to other Troon Privé-managed clubs around the country,” Sewell added.
“Being a core golf course, uninhabited by homes, Westhaven Golf Club provides an exceptional and rare golf experience,” said Bob Barrett CEO of Honours Golf, a division of Troon. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to enhance an already spectacular club through Troon levels of service and proven agronomy practices, while embracing the traditions already in place at Westhaven.”
