At the management firm’s annual awards dinner, The Country Club of St. Albans (Mo.) was named Facility of the Year, and James Fitzsimmons, General Manager of The Governors Club in Brentwood, Tenn., earned the James R. Seeley Award at General Manager of the Year. Joe Smith of Swenson Park Golf Course and Van Buskirk Golf Course in Stockton, Calif. was given the Emil Esposito Golf Professional of the Year Award, and Jason Pierce of Heron Glen Golf Course in Ringoes, N.J. was named Superintendent of the Year.
At its Annual Awards Dinner, KemperSports, the Northbrook, Ill.-based management firm, announced the list of people and properties that were honored with its yearly honors.
The Country Club of St. Albans (Mo.) was named KemperSports’ Facility of the Year, and James Fitzsimmons, General Manager of The Governors Club in Brentwood, Tenn., was earned the James R. Seeley Award as the firm’s General Manager of the Year.
Other honors bestowed at the Awards Dinner included:

- James S. Kemper Staffer of the Year: Susanne Snider, Cypress Head Golf Club, Port Orange, Fla.
- Retailer of the Year: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Bandon, Ore.
- Salesperson of the Year: Julie Crow, Rancho Solano Golf Course and Paradise Valley Golf Course, Fairfield, Calif.
- Mady Lesnik Home Office Staffer of the Year: Mary Kate Rohn, KemperSports, Northbrook, Ill.

The Annual Awards Dinner signaled the end of a week-long celebration of the previous year at the KemperSports Leadership Conference, at which general managers and leaders from across the KemperSports portfolio gather for three days of educational seminars, thought-leadership training, best-practice sharing and renewed fellowship.
The three-day conference was headlined by two keynote speakers, including PGA of America Chief Executive Officer Pete Bevacqua, and former Disney Corporation executive and leadership speaker Chuck Wardle.
