The Lexington, Ky., property is updating its facilities as the first step of its “Vision 2021” plan, which will see property-wide updates to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2021. For the first phase, the clubhouse has been demolished and will reopen with updated and expanded amenities in March 2018.
Greenbrier Golf & Country Club in Lexington, Ky., is embarking on an assessment-free $800,000 clubhouse renovation, the first step in the property’s “Vision 2021” plan.
Demolition of the clubhouse began in fall 2017 and is in full swing today with plans to celebrate the grand re-opening in March 2018.
The goal of the renovation is to design a destination for member dining and socialization that is updated and expanded for consistency throughout the facility. The project will touch on locker room and shower updates, efficient office design to enhance collaboration, and the addition of a conference room amenity for meetings of “clubs within the club.”
In addition to the structural changes, the club is also making a significant investment in furniture and kitchen equipment to improve efficiency and enhance operations. The project follows a pool renovation (2011), irrigation renovation (2016), and several golf course enhancements (2016-17) totaling nearly $5M over the last seven years.
“The main objectives of the renovation are to update the décor and appeal of the clubhouse, while also maximizing the space to reflect the utilization patterns and habits of our vibrant and growing membership,” said Club Manager Kelly Williams, PGA. “The overarching goal of ‘Vision 2021 – Your Club of the Future’ is to provide an innovative Club atmosphere at an affordable price that today’s active family can enjoy.”
Greenbrier G&CC will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2021. The goal is to add additional amenities and renovations throughout the entire club grounds as a part of the celebration. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the renovated clubhouse will be taking place in March.
