Hunters Run Country Club is expected to begin work in April 2018 on a $13.5 million update to its clubhouse, north golf course, and pool area. Aberdeen Country Club will upgrade its lobby, dining room, offices, pro shop, and restrooms, as part of a larger reconstruction project.

Hunters Run Country Club is planning a $13.5 million renovation to its clubhouse, a golf course and its pool area. Construction is expected to start in April 2018 and be completed by November. Club members approved the plan earlier this summer, the Post reported.
“If you don’t keep up you fall back,” said President Bernie Silver. “We’re all in to try to get new members and so we know that we have to keep doing things in order for us to be at the top level, which is where we are now.”
Crews will renovate the north golf course, the swimming pool area and the surrounding area at the main clubhouse. The north golf course will be redone “from its underlying infrastructure to its tee boxes, fairways and greens,” according to a news release.
A resort-style pool will have lap lanes and a separate water aerobics area as well as a beach entry feature. There will be a kiddie pool, a Jacuzzi and a tiki bar and seating area. There will be more shaded areas, a redecorated daytime outdoor eating area and a fire pit, as well as a second-level sunset dining deck, the Post reported.
“It’s going to be magnificent and people will come in and say ‘wow’,” Silver said.
Aberdeen Country Club also has plans for a renovation. Aberdeen’s upgrades include the lobby, dining room, offices, the pro shop and restrooms, which all together is about 25,000 sq. ft., the Post reported.
“The renovations are part of a larger reconstruction project involving the Aberdeen Country Club golf course and tennis facilities,” a statement from the club said.
The community is still waiting for permits to be approved to begin construction, the Post reported.
The two club updates are on a much smaller scale than expansions happening in the north part of the county. BallenIsles Country Club is undergoing a $35 million expansion and The Club at Ibis has a new $37 million clubhouse and sports complex, the Post reported.
