Gerald Chalphin and Drew S. Dorfman are seeking overdue legal fees from the Glenside, Pa., club according to a lawsuit filed on October 24 that alleges the club has not made sufficient payments for legal services rendered.
A pair of local attorneys are seeking overdue legal fees totaling more than $27,000 from LuLu Country Club in Glenside, Pa., according to a newly filed suit in state court, the Penn Record reported.
Gerald Chalphin, Esq. of Philadelphia and Drew S. Dorfman, Esq. of Bala Cynwyd filed suit in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas on October 24, the Record reported.
“On or about March 30, 2015, defendant engaged Chalphin to perform legal services for defendant regarding its principal place of business,” according to the lawsuit. “On or about April 7, 2015, Chalphin with the knowledge and authority of defendant, engaged Dorfman to perform legal services with Chalphin on behalf of defendant.”
Despite being requested to do so several times, the suit says the defendant made no payments for these services other than a single, $2,500 payment to Chalphin on July 17, 2015. Further, the defendant has failed to pay the outstanding balance of $20,622.50 due Chalphin or the outstanding balance of $6,840.58 due Dorfman, according to the lawsuit.
For counts of breach of contract, breach of implied contract, quantum meruit and unjust enrichment and quantum meruit, plaintiff Chalphin is seeking damages of $20,622.50 and plaintiff Dorfman is seeking damages of $6,840.58, plus such other relief as may be appropriate, the Record reported.
