The $2.5 million facility in Bedford, Pa., will debut next month, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for June 9. The clubhouse will feature Tillie’s, a new dining option named after A.W. Tillinghast with a bar, fireside lounge, and outdoor terrace, as well as a relocated pro shop.
Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa in Bedford, Pa., will debut its new clubhouse at the Old Course in June 2017.
Located adjacent to the 18th hole of the Old Course, the $2.5 million clubhouse at the Old Course pays homage to the resort’s historic legacy and incorporates modern amenities. The new clubhouse at the Old Course is the latest development in the continuing progression of golf at the resort, where play began in 1895.
To celebrate the development, the resort is hosting a Grand Opening celebration on June 9. The event will host local dignitaries, stakeholders, golf members and hotel guests with activities throughout the afternoon.
In a tribute to master golf architect A.W. Tillinghast, who oversaw a 1912 redesign of the Old Course, the facility will house Tillie’s, a new dining option for resort guests and day visitors. The interior design and finishes of the restaurant and additional spaces marry the resort’s traditional style with a handsome, masculine edge, including extensive Millwork and leather furnishings.
Tillie’s features a bar overlooking the Old Course, a fireside lounge and an outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding Allegheny Mountains. The restaurant will be able to seat approximately 80 guests when utilizing both the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The menu will feature a variety of classic American dishes, as well as new signature and classic cocktails including the Old Fashioned and Blueberry Arnold Palmer, which both use the resort’s exclusive Wigle Rye and Bourbon, respectively.
The resort’s pro shop will also be relocated from the spa wing of the resort to the clubhouse at the Old Course. The pro shop offers TaylorMade and Titleist golf clubs for sale as well as daily rental, and features a complete line of men’s and women’s resort and casual attire and equipment.
