An argument between co-workers at the Los Angeles club escalated into a confrontation in the kitchen area during which Emmanuel Bravo, 28, was stabbed with a kitchen knife. Bravo was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, and Erick Antonio Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of murder the next morning. “It’s a tough time; we’re obviously working through a lot,” the club said in a statement. In another incident, an “innocent bystander” was shot when an argument broke out at a party at Quail Creek CC in San Marcos, Texas.
A man was fatally stabbed by a co-worker at Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles on Thursday night, October 20th, and a suspect was taken into custody the next morning, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said an argument broke out about 8:45 p.m. on Thursday in the kitchen area of the country club, where Bravo was an employee, the Times reported.
A man pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Bravo, then ran from the scene, said LAPD Lt. John Radtke, according to the Times’ report.
Multiple other employees witnessed the incident, but no patrons were in the club’s restaurant when the stabbing occurred, Radtke said.
The victim, Emmanuel Bravo, 28, of Los Angeles, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Los Angeles police Officer Aareon Jefferson.
Erick Antonio Hernandez was then arrested on suspicion of murder about 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21st, Radtke said. Hernandez is being held on $2-million bail, the Times reported.
The victim and the suspect were involved in an ongoing dispute, the Times reported, but it was unclear what it was over. “They just obviously didn’t like each other,” Radtke said.
KTLA 5, a Los Angeles television station, obtained a statement after the incident from the club that said:
“It’s a very close family here and it’s a tough time. We’re obviously still working through a lot and with the LAPD right now.”
Hernandez will be presented to the District Attorney on October 25th, KTLA reported.
In another incident, an 18-year-old woman described as an “innocent bystander” was shot early on Sunday morning, October 23rd, during a “large party” at Quail Creek Country Club in San Marcos, Texas, the San Marcos Daily Record reported.
Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez of the Hays County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office said a call about a disturbance came in at 1:10 a.m. and that while deputies were en route, deputies learned that gunshots had been fired, the Daily Record reported.
Gutieerrez did not identify the victim, who was rushed via EMS to a hospital in the Austin, Texas area. As of mid-afternoon on Sunday the 24th, her condition was said to be stable, the Daily Record reported.
And Investigation revealed that several subjects were involved in an argument which led to shots fired and the victim being injured, the Daily Record reported.
One of the suspects was last seen fleeing the scene in a white-colored sedan, the Daily Record reported.
