Troon will also manage the food-and-beverage operations of the Shadow Hills community as part of the agreement with the Indio, Calif. property. Shadow Hills GC has 36 holes of golf and five F&B outlets on the property.
Shadow Hills Golf Club in Indio, Calif. has selected Troon for the club’s management, as well as the food-and-beverage operations of the Shadow Hills community. As part of the agreement, Troon will be responsible for managing 36 holes of Schmidt-Curley-designed golf and the five food-and-beverage options on property, including the Shadows Restaurant, the Santa Rosa Bistro, Montecito Café, the South Course Snack Shop, and banquet space.
Shadow Hills Golf Club is part of the Sun City Shadow Hills community. The club’s North and South courses are both open to public play and have been named the top golf courses in Indio. The club’s expansive practice facility has two tee levels, a short-game practice area with a true-to-speed green, and a private practice area for group and one-on-one lessons with the professional staff.
Shadow Hills features three clubhouses – the main Shadow Hills clubhouse, the Montecito Clubhouse and the Santa Rosa Clubhouse that serves the North Course. Four lighted tennis courts sit adjacent to the Montecito Clubhouse, while two tennis courts, six pickleball courts and one basketball court are adjacent to the Santa Rosa Clubhouse.
“While searching for a new management company for our golf and food-and-beverage operations, we knew Troon was the right fit for Shadow Hills,” said Ceasar Larrach, the property’s HOA General Manager. “Troon is highly respected in the golf industry and its food- and-beverage team is top-notch. Troon will undoubtedly help us improve our overall club experience.”
The Shadows Restaurant, located in the main Shadow Hills Clubhouse, features golf course and mountain views and is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Montecito Café is located inside the Montecito Clubhouse as a place to grab a cup of coffee and breakfast. The Santa Rosa Bistro is located inside the Santa Rosa Clubhouse and currently serves fresh salads, sandwiches and chef- inspired flatbreads. The South Course Snack Bar serves hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
“We are very excited to be on board at Shadow Hills,” said Mike Ryan, Troon’s Division President for open-to-public and resort properties. “The golf courses are fantastic and offer residents and guests two unique challenges. Our food-and-beverage team will enhance and improve upon the restaurant and dining options on property by introducing new menus and refining the culinary and service standards.”
