Two weeks out from The Greenbrier Classic, the White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., property is experiencing heavy flooding. “It’s like nothing I’ve seen,” said owner and CEO Jim Justice.
The Greenbrier Classic is scheduled to start in two weeks, but the White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., property is underwater due to heavy flooding, CBS Sports reported.
An Instagram photo and video posted by Bubba Watson show the extent of the flooding:

That does not bode well for the tournament, which follows next week’s Bridgestone Invitational and precedes the British Open. The entire state of West Virginia is seemingly underwater, with parts of it receiving two-to-four inches of rain overnight.
The Greenbrier released the following statement in response to the flooding:
Due to the torrential rains that have fallen in Greenbrier County, W.Va., throughout the day, The Greenbrier is experiencing heavy flooding throughout the resort and in surrounding areas. All actions are being taken to keep all guests and Team Members safe, and that is the focus of everybody at this time.
“It’s like nothing I’ve seen,” said Jim Justice, owner and CEO, The Greenbrier. “But our focus right now isn’t on the property, the golf course or anything else. We’re praying for the people and doing everything we can to get them the help they need.”
More information will be released as it is available.
