Two men who had been involved in an ongoing dispute brandished guns during an argument at the golf course, prompting 15 police cars to arrive on the scene, and while threats were made, no shots were fired. Golfers were called back to the clubhouse during the incident.
A dispute between two armed men brought more than a dozen police officers to the Springfield Golf & Country Club the afternoon of June 20, the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader reported.
Lt. Tad Peters with the Springfield Police Department said two men who had been involved in an ongoing dispute brandished guns during an argument at the golf course. Peters said there were threats, but it does not appear any shots were fired, the News-Leader reported.
During the incident, golfers out on the course were called back to the clubhouse as a safety precaution. As many as 15 Springfield police cars responded to the scene, in addition to a pair of Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicles, the News-Leader reported.
Peters said both people involved in the dispute were contacted by police in the vicinity of the golf course a little after 12:30 p.m. One of the men was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon and assault, the News-Leader reported.
