The Pleasanton, Calif., property’s clubhouse now features two new dining rooms, The Estate and The Cellar, with updated decor throughout, and a newly expanded patio with fire pits and access to bocce ball courts.
The Club at Ruby Hill (formerly known as Ruby Hill Golf Club), a private club in Pleasanton, Calif., with a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design Golf Course, has unveiled a clubhouse renovation that refreshes the club’s Tuscan ambience, while creating more space.
The $3 million renovation maintains Ruby Hill’s old-world elegance and architectural charm while adding such features as a luxurious member’s only “wine cave” accessed from a private secluded walkway. Arcis Golf assumed management of The Club at Ruby Hill earlier this month.
“The purpose of the expansion project was to provide new spaces for our growing, prestigious membership, to gather and entertain,” said General Manager Mike Rood.
The clubhouse now features two new dining rooms: The Estate, a private “wine room” hidden behind hand carved barn doors and seating up to 12, and The Cellar, an intimate, “underground” setting that features vaulted ceilings, tasting and dining alcoves, hand-carved wood tables, and regal leather chairs. The Cellar’s custom wine cases showcase the exclusive offerings available only at Ruby Hill.
The décor in each of the new rooms is defined by hand-crafted artisan woodwork, from tables and chairs to ceiling beams, wall fixtures, and doors that open out to the newly expanded patio, fire pits, and bocce ball courts. The Reserve dining area features a carved wood bar with a special “leather” finish granite top, a new stone fireplace surround, hand-carved barley-twist styled chairs, and large, circular iron pendant light fixtures that hover from the vaulted ceilings. A colonnade sweeps around the patio, with the columns adding an attractive buffer between the members’ areas and private outdoor event space.
“The spaces flow easily from one to the other,” Rood said. “We wanted to be able to better utilize the patio. The new outdoor area gives members a variety of options.”
