“Glamorous camping” sold out in the 2015 season at the Pennsylvania property, so this year new tents pitched on riverside platforms will offer guests “the feeling of staying in a luxury hotel room with the ability to step outside into the great outdoors.”
“Glamping”—camping for the glamorous outdoorsperson—sold out in the 2015 season at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. So for the 2016 season, the Pocono Mountains property, in Shawnee on Delaware, Pa., is unveiling two new fully furnished, riverside tents, to further capitalize on “the new luxurious trend of roughing it without actually roughing it” and give resort guests “the best of both worlds.”
As a complement to four separate upscale island glamping tents that the resort has provided to guests on the Shawnee Island part of its property in the middle of the Delaware River, the two new, 210-sq. ft. tents will be pitched on 20’x20’ riverside platforms that include one queen bed and a sleeper sofa for one or two. A twenty-minute paddle ride to the luxury sites will enhance the “back to nature” experience,” and breakfast will also be included, served between 7 and 8:30 am by a camping attendant.
Nighttime activities center around a common fire pit and include refreshments until 11 pm.
The “glamping” experience, which also includes high speed Wi-Fi, electricity, shared men and women’s restrooms with access to showers, and hammocks, will available at the resort for for stays between April 22 and Oct 23, 2016,
