Christy Kroboth has become a bit of a local celebrity in Richmond, Texas after helping wrangle a 12-foot, 700-lb. alligator at River Pointe Golf Club.
The Houston area has been seeing a lot more alligators roam into residential areas lately, including a 12-foot gator that was found on River Pointe Golf Club in Richmond, Texas, the Tyler, Texas CBS 19 reported.
Christy Kroboth, who goes by the nickname “Gator Girl,” has become something of a local celebrity, showing no fear with the reptiles. “They always kind of doubt me until we have them taped up like this and then they’re like, ‘You’re my hero,’” said Kroboth.
On November 18, Kroboth helped haul the big gator, locally known as Chubbs, with a tractor. “We believe he came from the Brazos River with all the recent rain,” she said. “I am trained,” Kroboth said. “We are licensed to mess with alligators,” adding she’s now quitting her day job as a dental assistant, CBS 19 reported.
“It’s OK. We’re going to take you to a new place and you’re going to be just fine, OK?” Kroboth told the gator. “We’re just your ride.” Chubbs was taken to an alligator farm in Texas. See the video below.
