The Scottsdale, Ariz., property’s $3.85 million restoration project is expected to be complete by November, and will add 1,900 sq. ft. to the clubhouse, upgrade the tennis courts, and add a pro shop and snack bar.
The Country Club at DC Ranch continues its $3.85 million restoration project with the help of PHX Architecture, which are designed to improve the amenities for the club’s 551 members, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.
“It’s not about getting bigger, it’s about getting better,” said the Scottsdale, Ariz., club’s COO/General Manager Paul Skelton, CCM.
Skelton said a master planning process started two years ago to determine the needs of the membership. Last summer, once a plan was approved by its members, club officials met with architects and contractors. The project is scheduled for completion by November, the Journal reported.
“We’ve talked about doing something in opening space up, so we decided now is the time to invest, and that’s what we’ve done,” Skelton said. “We’re creating more functional additions, and taking advantage of what is already there and what the property provides.”
Approximately 1,900 sq. ft. will be added to the clubhouse’s existing 37,000, including a new U-shaped bar lounge, the Journal reported.
The golf course was redesigned in 2002, and renovations were completed on 31 bunkers this month. The tennis courts will also receive an upgrade with a blue surface color to improve the sight lines. A pro shop and a snack bar also will be added this fall, the Journal reported.
Annual membership fees for the Country Club at DC Ranch range from $5,000 to $75,000. The club has reached its maximum for golf memberships, so those are available only on a resale basis, the Journal reported.
The club approved the first phase of its master plan in August 2013 (“The CC at DC Ranch Continues Growth“).
