Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, Calif., will unveil its MacKenzie Putting Course in April 2014.
The MacKenzie, designed for adults, kids and families, features nine challenging holes with water hazards, sand traps, and sneaky breaks to challenge even seasoned putting pros.
Local artist John Holland has been commissioned to paint a 100-foot-long section of an adjacent wall to match the tropical golf theme. Local artist Sue Johnson created a small caricature of a young Alister MacKenzie, the namesake of the championship golf course at Haggin Oaks, as the logo for the putting course. TruTurf and father/son golf team Mike and David Schy are doing the installation of the project.
The MacKenzie Putting Course will host family outings, group functions and celebrations. Haggin Oaks features a 24-hour driving range, Player Performance Studio fitting center, three-hole learning academy, 15,000-sq. ft. Golf Super Shop, 36 holes of championship golf, and a FootGolf course.
