A project to modernize the 25-year-old golf course at Menlo Country Club in Woodside, Calif., is in the works, the Menlo Park (Calif.) Almanac reported.
The project will include about 180,000 cubic yards of grading and about 63,000 cubic yards of added sand, according to a Planning Commission report.
The course will keep its current footprint, but its holes will be rerouted and its drainage and irrigation systems, greens, tees and sand bunkers upgraded, according to club documents filed with the town, the Almanac reported.
Fifty-three mature native trees will be felled, but 219 native trees are to be planted, including 169 coast live oaks, 20 valley oaks and 30 redwoods, the Almanac reported.
A timeline for the project was not provided.
