Former Executive Chef will be reunited with Tom Wallace, who he worked with at The Country Club in Ohio. Most recently, he was Director of Clubhouse Operations at Chagrin Valley CC.
The summer migration of club management talent to The Club at Mediterra in Naples, Fla., continues, as ripple effects from the announcement in mid-July that Tom Wallace was leaving Oakmont (Pa.) Country Club to be Mediterra’s new GM/CEO (see “Tom Wallace Named General Manager and CEO at Club at Mediterra“).
Following an earlier announcement in the last week of July that Rob Anderson, formerly with Belfair Plantation in South Carolina, would be Mediterra’s new Director of Golf (see “The Club at Mediterra Names Rob Anderson as Director of Golf“), it was announced two days later that Carmen Mauceri had accepted the position of Director of Clubhouse Operations (which includes all Food & Beverage operations) at the Florida club. Mauceri had most recently served as Director of Clubhouse Operations at Chagrin Valley Country Club near Cleveland. Earlier in his career, he worked as Executive Chef at The Country Club in Pepper Pike, Ohio (suburban Cleveland) at the same time that Wallace was there as interim General Manager. The Country Club was awarded Platinum Club status during the time that both Wallace and Mauceri worked there.
A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., Mauceri has won many culinary and service awards, including the American Culinary Federation Award of Excellence and the Chef D’ Cuisine for a Presidential Dinner. In total he has over 20 years of comprehensive hospitality leadership experience in premier country clubs, high-end restaurants and corporate restaurant groups.
“Carmen is known for building superb teams and for putting a heavy emphasis on top-notch, consistent service,” Wallace said in making the announcement of Mauceri’s new position at Mediterra.
