Remember when cell phones were just for making calls? Now smart phones like the Apple iPhone, for example, let you compare hotel room prices, read a book, even examine brain scans. Tapping into this trend, Bayonet Black Horse, the 36-hole, full-bentgrass facility in Seaside, Calif., has launched an Apple iPhone applications, or app, becoming one of the first golf courses in Northern California to embrace the technology, available immediately at iTunes, free of charge.
Using the Bayonet Black Horse app, players can take advantage of tee time specials featured on golfnow.com, view rates, read about the courses’ storied history and scan the menu at the Bayonet Black Horse Bar & Grill.
The app also provides users with instant access to Bayonet Black Horse’s online store, where golfers can purchase a wide variety of items, from men’s and women’s polo shirts to golf gift certificates.
In addition to golf course information, the app contains a feature, linking users to “The Enclave at Cypress Grove,” a 400-acre planned, residential golf resort community located on Bayonet Black Horse.
“By launching an iPhone app, Bayonet Black Horse is giving golfers instant, convenient access to all of the details they’ll need regarding one of Northern California’s most sought after playing experiences,” says Dick Fitzgerald, project director for owner/operator Seaside Resort Development. “Whether they’re booking a tee time or shopping at our online store, people will be provided with everything Bayonet Black Horse, right on their phones.”
