Registration for the “Success Without Excess III” WaterSmart Symposium, a Webcast to be presented by Toro Irrigation on July 29-30, is still open at www.torowatersmart.com. Because the symposium will be broadcast as an Internet Webcast and have a “virtual” format, attendees will have the flexibility of logging in to the presentations that are most relevant to their specific interests.
Coinciding with the Irrigation Association’s Smart Irrigation Month, the 2008 WaterSmart symposium has invited well-known industry experts to make presentations on a variety of topics affecting worldwide water management issues and the irrigation industry.
Legendary golf professional Jack Nicklaus will kick off the symposium with a keynote address, followed by a presentation by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, principal for Hurdzan/Fry Environmental Golf by Design, who will discuss water conservation and its effect on golf course designs. Greg Lyman, Director of Environmental Programs at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, will then address golf’s compatibility with the environmental movement.
Additional presentations during the symposium will focus on other educational topics related to golf course water management, in addition to issues related to water management and irrigation best practices for the commercial and residential landscaping markets and for the agricultural industry.
