Grand Reserve Golf Course, formerly known as Oak Branch, opened in Bunnell earlier this month. Owned and operated by Capstone Golf (capstonegolf.net), Grand Reserve is Flagler County’s first new public course in a long time.
“Capstone is committed to public golf and understands the importance of growing the game of golf through continued access to affordable golf in local communities,” says Michael Beebe, ASGCA of Palm Coast, Fla. who together with Bill Amick, ASGCA of Daytona Beach, Fla. designed the course which is routed amongst a series of hardwood wetlands typical of Northeast Florida.
According to Beebe, “the golf course was designed with an emphasis on making the course user friendly for a wide range of skill levels. We have intentionally limited forced carries on the course and have emphasized strategy rather than target golf. We have encouraged the use of the ground to play a variety of shots rather than forcing golfers to hit every shot high and soft. The golf course should be quite enjoyable for all skill levels with enough challenge to keep the better golfers alert even though the course is not long by today’s standards.”
