Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort has promoted Jason Cheney to Clubhouse Manager, to oversee the operations of the entire clubhouse in addition to his duties as Food & Beverage Director.
On the heels of announcing a series of renovations to the famed Blue Monster Golf Course, Doral Golf Resort & Spa has hired Doug Miller, CGCS, as its new Director of Agronomy. In this position, Miller will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, including the maintenance, repair, and landscaping, of Doral's five championship courses.
Chris Flynn is the new Director of Grounds at Grande Pines Golf Club, operated by Marriott Golf in Orlando. Flynn was previously Super-intendent at Faldo Golf Institute.

Pinehurst Resort has hired Don Sweeting as Executive Vice President of Golf and Club Operations. Sweeting, who worked as a Pinehurst golf professional early in his career, returns with more than 25 years of experience in club and course management. He has assumed responsibility of all golf and country club operations, overseeing the management of all eight of Pinehurst's golf courses, the Golf Advantage School, professional staff and Pinehurst Club Management.

Edward (Ted) Horton, CGCS, the Consulting Superintendent for ValleyCrest Golf Course Mainte-nance, will receive the University of Massachusetts Turfgrass Program's "Distinguished Alumnus of the Year" on Oct. 23. The award will be presented during The Alumni Turf Group's Third Annual Joseph Troll Education Fundraiser at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
