Bids for Highland CC Now Total Seven, with More Expected
A bankruptcy judge court will hold a hearing on May 1 to determine if the 117-year-old Attleboro, Mass. club’s property should be sold to one of the current bidders, but a court trustee said it’s expected that more offers could be received at the courthouse. The highest bid currently received for the club, which has debt of around $1.7 million that must be paid off by the buyer, was reported to be $2.1 million.

Court Orders Bankruptcy Sale of Westport (N.Y.) CC
A bankruptcy court conveyed ownership of the club to Consolidated Mortgages LLC, a company owned by Robert Hall and Leslie Hall-Butzer, the brother and sister of club operator John Hall, for $60,000. The new owners will take on $160,000 owed in delinquent taxes, and plan to renovate the facility over the winter and reopen in spring 2017.
