Innovative presentations in an inviting environment provided a one-of-a-kind experience at C&RB’s Ninth Annual Chef to Chef Conference.
The ninth annual event, held at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, ended on March 7 with chef demos and sessions on topics ranging from management and training to Latin cuisine, catering and banquet design, pastries and wine programs. The day began with a drawing for a Crown Verity grill, and the event also included a General Managers’ panel.
In spring 2016, the Johns Creek, Ga., property will add forward tees and reposition select member tees, regrass the fairways and green surfaces, evaluate bunkers, create new fairway chipping areas to protect the green surfaces, and rebuild hole No. 14 green to increase the number of hole locations.
Sessions on sous vide, ethnic fusion, banquet preparation and more kept attendees engaged at a sold-out event that even attracted Forrest Gump.
Through the partnership, the Baltimore, Md.-based club planning, architecture and interior design firm will address facilities upgrades, current and anticipated athletic trends, and multigenerational program enhancements for the Johns Creek, Ga. club’s 116-year-old campus.
Following the announcement earlier this year that Kevin Carroll would succeed long-time General Manager Chris Borders upon his retirement, the club that will be the site of the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship and also hosted U.S. Open and PGA Championship tournaments has added Peter Lovelace as Club Manager, Erica Smith as Membership Director and Lisa Henderson as Catering Director.
