Northwood GC Offers “Bounty” on New Members

The incentive program at the Rhinelander, Wis., property would reward current members with a $50 gift certificate when they bring in a new member. The proposal for the “bounty” was approved by the city’s golf course commission and will be announced to members in April.


The Bath (Maine) GC Plans Changes Under New Owner

The new owners are planning to renovate and separate the function space from the day-to-day operations to better accommodate weddings and events. The new Ship City Brew Pub in the lower floor of the clubhouse will feature three virtual golf simulators, two pool tables, and a raised seating area with a full-service bar, kitchen, and takeout window.


Former GM of Hillcrest GC Loses Defamation Lawsuit

Terry J. Clark sued Time Inc. a year after it ran an article on its GOLF.com website that referred to the former General Manager of the Kansas City, Mo., property as “Vlad the Impaler.” Clark sought $12 million in damages for defamation and emotional distress, but the judge ruled that the article was “not actionable as a defamatory statement.”
