New DuPont CC Owners See “More of an Athletic Club”

Basketball and volleyball courts and indoor facilities for year-round sports are envisioned by the new owners who are investing $18 million in the storied Wilmington, Del. club. “By just doing a better job listening to the market, we can turn this thing around,” says new owner and longtime member Ben duPont.  “The experts say families are looking for more things to do together over a shorter period of time.”

College Golf Coach Joins Partnership to Purchase Pennsylvania Club

Brian Quinn, a former touring pro now in his llth season as head men’s coach at Philadelphia’s Temple University, is part of a new corporation formed to acquire Plymouth Country Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., which will now be rebranded as The 1912 Club, in recognition of the year it was founded. The club features a William Flynn-designed golf course that will now be renovated under the direction of Ron Prichard.

Top of the Rock Lodge Planned at Big Cedar Lodge Resort

The latest development at the Ridgedale, Mo., property is being built to highlight The Cathedral of Nature, a geologic formation excavated over the last three years after a sinkhole collapse under Top of the Rock’s driving range.
