Formerly known as the Bear’s Den, the dining area at The Woodlands, Texas property was renamed in honor of its founding members. The project has updated the bar to a horseshoe shape that seats up to 14 and is lit with LED lighting, added a wine tap system, and created an outdoor space with a patio, fire pit and outdoor seating.
The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas has completed the renovation of its bar and dining area at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.
Formerly known as the Bear’s Den, the dining area was renamed the “Founder’s Lounge” in honor of the founding members of the club, which became member-owned in 2015. In addition to the new name, three plaques now permanently adorn the walls of the Founder’s Lounge listing the names of the club’s founders.
The most noticeable upgrade is the redesigned bar, which has been transformed from a straight six-top to a horseshoe bar that seats up to fourteen. The bar top is illuminated with LED lights, which can be programmed to set every mood for every occasion while a new Winekeeper tap system behind the bar can hold up to eight bottles of fine wine. Eight brand new television sets ensure that members can enjoy the big game no matter where they are seated, and new modern furniture is both comfortable and eye-catching.
As part of the renovation, the club sought to create an inviting outdoor space adjacent to the Founder’s Lounge where members could enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer alongside views of the renowned Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. This new outdoor space includes a fire pit with comfortable outdoor seating, and a patio dining area with its own television.
In addition to the Founder’s Lounge, the club recently completed a $1.2 million renovation of the Tom Fazio Championship Course, renovated the Nicklaus practice facility, updated and resurfaced the tennis courts, added new luxury golf carts, and implemented the use of Pro V1 balls on the driving range.
