The honor from the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers will be presented to the Baltimore-based club planning, architecture and interior design firm that specializes in private clubs at the organization’s annual gala on October 5th.
Chambers, the Baltimore, Md.-based 360° club planning, architecture, and interior design firm specializing in private clubs, is being honored with the 2016 Distinguished Leadership Award by the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
The Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes a company, organization, or individual for providing exceptional service to the Maryland interior design community. It is typically awarded to an entity that has shown dedication to furthering the interior design profession through various initiatives and contributions.
Chambers has worked closely with ASID’s Maryland and Washington Metro Chapters over the past year, hosting guided tours of the Montgomery Park Building and Chambers’ Baltimore design studio. Chambers’ Megan Koets, Senior Interior Designer, currently serves as President of the Washington Metro Chapter.
“With roots to AID/ASID back to the 1930s with Mr. J. H. Leroy Chambers, this award becomes especially meaningful to the company,” notes Bob Hickman, Chambers’ Chairman of the Board and past Director of Interior Design.
The award will be presented to Chambers at an Annual Gala on October 5th, which will take place on a cruise on the Spirit Yacht through Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Hickman and other members of Chambers’ Baltimore interior design studio will be in attendance to accept the award. Those wishing to attend the event can purchase a ticket online through ASID.
Chambers was established in 1899 as a painting and wallpaper company in Baltimore and has been working in the private club industry since its first engagement with the Baltimore Country Club in the mid-1940s. Today, it stands as the largest hospitality design firm in the nation with a singular purpose of working with private clubs.
Chambers is also a Corporate Alliance Partner of the Club Managers Association of America, providing significant support to the continuing education and advancement of the private club industry.
