Dominick Laudia, CEC, AAC, who has been the Executive Chef of the Boca Raton, Fla., club since 2012, has been honored with the Dr. L.J. Minor Award by the American Culinary Federation, in recognition of how he “exemplifies the highest standard of professionalism in today’s kitchen through certification, continued education and training, culinary competitions and community involvement.”
Dominick Laudia, CEC, AAC, Executive Chef of the Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club in Boca Raton, Fla., has been awarded the American Culinary Federation’s 2016 National Dr. L.J. Minor Chef Professionalism Award.
The national award recognizes an ACF chef who best exemplifies the highest standard of professionalism in today’s kitchen through certification, continued education and training, culinary competitions and community involvement. Chef Laudia won the 2016 Southeast Region Title for the ACF Chef Professionalism Award in March, placing him in competition with the Central, Northeast and Western regional winners for the national title.
In his career, Chef Laudia has been awarded more than 20 culinary competition medals from the ACF, as well as the Chef of the Year Award for 2001 and 2012 for the Palm Beach ACF Chapter.
In his third term as President of the Palm Beach County ACF Chapter, Chef Laudia has been a driving force behind the Chapter’s growth, keeping focus on its mission and maintaining its positive momentum. Laudia strives to keep the field growing with mentoring programs and competitions for young chefs and students.
He works to ensure that the chefs in the Chapter are staying up-to-date with the industry by inviting vendors, other educators and professional chefs to meetings to further their education in the field. “Gaining knowledge is an everyday occurrence,” he believes. “Passing along what you have learned is a lifelong commitment.”
Chef Laudia has been the Executive Chef at Boca Grove G&TC, which has 444 member families, since 2012. His career has included holding the Executive Chef position at three other Boca Raton clubs: Boca Woods Country Club, Boca Rio Golf Club, and The Polo Club of Boca Raton. He has also been the owner/chef of the Culinary Café in Delray Beach, Fla.

Other awards and honors earned by Chef Laudia during his career have included the 2003 ACF Presidential Medallion; 2007 Palm Beach (Fla.) County School District Business Partner of the Year, 2009 Prostart Industry Participant of the Year, and 2014 Professional Chef of the Year for the ACF Palm Beach (Fla.) Chapter.
Chef Laudia is a member of the Choice Academy Advisory Board for West Boca Community High School and a Board member of the Florida Career and Technical Education Association. He played an integral role in the planning and construction phase of West Boca Community High School’s Culinary Academy Program. He then played a key role in helping it to attain National Academy Model status, and is a mentor to the students and teachers in the Culinary Arts Academy.
Chef Laudia is also involved in community service and outreach with the Quantum House at St. Mary’s Hospital, Children’s Home Society and The Lord’s Place.
