On Monday, employees of Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., decided to give a break to volunteers of Iron Gate, a non-profit serving breakfast and lunch to those in need every day of the year, the Tulsa-based KTUL ABC 8 reported.
“That means so much to us because we know that our staff works so hard,” said Maggie Hoey with Iron Gate. “It’s nice that other people recognize that too.”

“Last year bacon was the big deal and something we never really thought about,” said Executive Chef Jonathan Moosmiller, CMC. “To see everybody just going nuts to see there was bacon here was kind of tremendous. I think it opened everybody’s eyes and kind of made everyone realize how special it is what we are doing today.”
Moosmiller presented at the 2016 Chef to Chef Conference in San Diego.

“This is a great opportunity,” said Nancy Acton, an employee of the club. “It’s nice to see the families come in and the kids get a healthy meal to start their day. It really means a lot to all of us.”
