Under the Brookfield, Wis., club’s plan, the existing restaurant will adjoin the new patio and provide meal services during lunch and dinner, extending dining hours. The club hopes to have the patio completed and open by Memorial Day weekend.
Westmoor Country Club in Brookfield, Wis., has announced plans to completely renovate its outdoor patio, Brookfield Now reported.
“We’ve been working on outdoor dining for our members for approximately four years,” Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Joseph Coan said. “We have looked at various sites around the club and determined that upgrading the somewhat outdated facilities we had were in our best interests.”
Westmoor’s restaurant, which services pool guests, golfers and tennis players, will adjoin the new patio and provide meal services during lunch and dinner. In addition, Coan says that the club is hoping to extend the hours of operation of the new patio beyond the summer months, Now reported.
With the renovations, the new patio will increase in size overall, but the seating capacity will remain similar. “The square footage will increase by about 30%, but the seating accommodations will be similar to what we’ve had in the past,” Coan said.
The majority of the new space occupied by the patio will be filled by a trio of large water features on the northwest side of the area, Now reported.
At Monday’s city of Brookfield plan commission meeting, project representative Bill Burkhart introduced the public to its first view of the project. “Our members had a vote and the members wanted to create a better outdoor dining experience,” Burkhart said.
Burkhart noted that a tent structure on the current patio has been damaged multiple times and that the new area will feature a shaded structure covering a bar; that structure will also have a gazebo on top of it with a clock facing the golf course, Now reported.
The plan commission unanimously approved a public hearing for the project Monday evening. Coan said that the club hopes to have the patio completed and open by Memorial Day weekend this year, Now reported.
