The winning bidder at a foreclosure auction last December failed to follow through on the purchase of the Quincy, Mass., property. The 155-acre property’s 18-hole golf course, 15,000-sq. ft. clubhouse and event center will be up for auction again on August 21.
The Quarry Hills Golf Club in Quincy, Mass., is going up for auction for the second time in eight months, the Greensboro, N.C.-based Triad Business Journal reported.
The club, which features an 18-hole golf course designed by Ellis Maples, is facing a second foreclosure auction on August 21 after a deal made in December fell through, the Business Journal reported.
Auction Manager Chris Crawford with Iron Horse Auction Co., which is handling the sale, said a court-ordered foreclosure auction on December 12 generated multiple upset bids. The winning bidder paid the 5% down payment on a bid of $881,000, but failed to follow through on the purchase, the Business Journal reported.
The 155-acre property opened in 1970 and now features a 15,000-sq. ft. clubhouse and event center, which Crawford said is in fair condition, while the golf course has not been maintained since it closed last fall, and the greens will need to be redone, the Business Journal reported.
The property will have open houses on August 12 and August 20, the Business Journal reported.
