The 18-hole golf course at the Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah, is now open to the public. As a continuation of sustainability efforts across the resort, the golf course uses a fertigation system, which allows fertilizer to be directly injected into the irrigation pipes.
Canyons Golf at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah is now open to the public. The 18-hole, 6,246-yard par-70 golf course winds through 97 acres, offering more than 550 feet of elevation change with views of the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains and surrounding valleys.
Designed by Gene and Casey Bates, the new course begins at the resort’s Orange Bubble Express—the first heated chairlift in North America—winds up at the Willow Draw area, and then wraps down the mountain around the Waldorf Astoria Park City and back up to the Orange Bubble Express.

The 10th hole presents a 250-foot elevation drop allowing guests to potentially hit a 400-yard drive. The signature 4th hole offers panoramic views of Park City.
As a continuation of sustainability efforts across the resort, techniques have been implemented at Canyons Golf to support this initiative. Construction methods included crushing several tons of rock on site in order to make topsoil to be used on fairways, saving thousands of gallons of diesel fuel which would have been spent hauling material away. Additionally, the course features a state-of-the-art irrigation system known as fertigation, which allows fertilizer to be directly injected into the irrigation pipes rather than using broadcast spreaders. This method of irrigation allows water and fertilizer to be placed exactly where it is needed resulting in more efficient use of resources.
