The Bend, Ore., property will unveil upgrades to its greens and several holes on March 29, and introduce a new speed league that will incorporate the property’s fleet of GolfBoards.
Tetherow Golf Club, the Scottish links-style layout in Bend, Ore., will reopen later this month with spruced up greens, a new bunker and a new speed golf league using the resort’s GolfBoards, the Portland (Ore.) Business Journal reported.
Tetherow, which is surrounded by the recreational planned community of the same name, will unveil the course upgrades when it officially opens for the 2015 season March 29, the Business Journal reported.
The upgrades include a full makeover of hole 17, which course designer David Kidd has called its “darling hole.” The hole will feature an expanded and reshaped green as well as a new bunker. Tetherow has also revamped several other holes, the Business Journal reported.
The speed league will use the course’s fleet of GolfBoards, which are motorized, standup carts that golfers can use to make their way quickly around the course. Tetherow boasts that it is the first course in the country to have an entire fleet of the vehicles, the Business Journal reported.
The surrounding Tetherow Resort and community features single-family home sites, townhomes and soon, according to company information, adventure cottages, the Business Journal reported.
