The Canby, Ore. club says it is introducing the new level after surveying the market and finding “there are a lot of single golfers out there who would like to join a club, but there isn’t a specific membership for them.”
Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Ore., says it has created a new proprietary membership level focused on single membership, to address what the club feels is an unfulfilled need within the private club market in the greater Portland, Ore. region.
“We’re excited to offer this new level of membership,” said Alison Cruden, Club Manager. “We surveyed the market and found there are a lot of single golfers out there who would like to join a club, but there isn’t a specific membership for them.”
Single Player Proprietary members at Willamette Valley CC will enjoy full club privileges including the use of the clubhouse and participation in a full calendar of social events. Member green fees and practice range balls are included in the member’s dues.
“Single Player Proprietary family members can also enjoy social-only membership privileges” said Cruden. “Members enjoy a full year of social activities, as well as access to both formal and casual dining.”
This new category includes a one-time, $2,500 initiation fee. Monthly dues are $355, and there is also a quarterly food minimum of $135.
Willamette Valley CC, founded in 1962, offers an 18-hole championship golf course, two restaurants for both formal and casual dining, and a full complement of golf instruction and practice facilities, as well as a junior golf program.
“A down-to-earth golf experience is king here, and that is our focus,” said Cruden. “Our slogan is “Where the Players Play” and it’s true – our golfing membership is second to none.”
