The new Commerce Club, a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs in Atlanta, Ga., announced that a $7 million construction project is under way on its new club quarters, located on the 49th floor of One Ninety One Peachtree Tower. The Commerce Club merged memberships in early 2010 with the One Ninety One Club and, once established in the new facility, will operate under the name of The Commerce Club. In addition to relocating to new club quarters, The Commerce Club, with a renewed motto of “Developing the leaders of today and tomorrow for the city of Atlanta,” also is introducing new programming, membership benefits, and services.
Plans for the new facility include a members bar featuring casual dining; seven state-of-the-art private meeting rooms; a ballroom that can accommodate more than 200 people for a seated event; a big-screen multimedia room; office-away-from-office spaces; and enhanced integration of cutting-edge technological conveniences. The project is expected to be complete by November 2010. During construction, members can utilize either existing club until the actual relocation takes place.
In conjunction with its renewed motto, dining rooms will be named after great Atlantans, including legendary golfer Bobby Jones and former Mayor Ivan Allen. Incorporated throughout the décor of the club will be historical art, artifacts, and memorabilia, such as paintings by Lamar Dodd and Wilbur G. Kurtz, historical wood carvings, and a plaque with the cast of Fulton County stadium that was originally given to Ivan Allen.
